Stichting Wageningen Research (SWR) is an international NGO registered in Ethiopia since March 2021 with the FDRE Agency for Civil Society Organizations. The organization is established with the objectives of promoting a more resilient, inclusive and sustainable food systems in Ethiopia.
One of the roles of SWR Ethiopia, through its Ethiopia Netherland Seed Partnership (ENSP), is enhancing the capacity of fresh and recent graduates of seed related fields of studies and to create market opportunity for them. The ENSP project serves as facilitator agent and bridge between interns and host organizations of the seed sector. Furthermore, SWR Ethiopia provides technical and economic support for interns during the internship period.
SWR Ethiopian offices welcome talented and motivated young graduates to join our internship program, designed to advance their career and give them an opportunity to link with the labor market.
The main objective of the internship program is to provide young professionals with quality practical-learning experience and enable them to have access to employment opportunities and to create young entrepreneurs. In the meantime, our interns will lend their expertise from various fields of studies to the host organizations.
Position: – Interns for different assignments in local and international seed companies Address
Location: – In different parts of the country
Duration of the assignment: – Three to six months of internship assignment
Roles and responsibilities of interns
As an intern, you are expected to:
- Participate in pre and follow-up training
- Gain a good understanding of the mission, values and day-to-day operations of the organization;
- Develop your existing skills and learn new ones that will be useful for your career;
- Work in a dynamic and multicultural environment that will help you broaden your professional network.
Job requirement
Applicants should meet the following criteria:
- A graduate from a recognized university in the field of Horticulture, Plant Science, Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics, Rural Development, Marketing, and Crop Production
- A graduate from Agricultural TVETs and pass the CoC assessment of level IV
- Interested in learning and work in the seed sector
- Able to undertake the required internship training
- Willing to participate in the internship program on full-time basis
- Not previously participated in any internship program
- Meet any other requirements listed on the application form
- Knowledge to additional local language (in addition to Amharic) is plus
